Many studies pointed out that social psychological factor will affect the exercise dependence, but little research use self-presentation was discussed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of self-presentation in exercise dependence among undergraduates. The cross-selection survey was utilized in this study, and participants were 1,500 undergraduates (the average age of 19.10±0.91 years) who completed fitness test and volunteered to participate in the study. All of collection data would be used two-way multivariate analysis of variance to analyze. The results showed that compared with the low physical attraction group, the high physical attraction group were higher mood disturbance, physical and social discomforts, and decreased vigor. Additional, compared with the high weight control and ability presentation groups, the high physical attraction group was higher mood disturbance. Concluded that the students should avoid the use of physical attraction strategy in presentation processes, otherwise they will be dissatisfied with the result lead to excessive dependence on exercise, and a similar withdrawal symptoms appeared in substance addiction when the behaviors was interrupted. |
