The 921 Chi-Chi Earthquake was the most severe natural disaster of Taiwan in the 20th century. It caused a lot of lives and properties loss. The research explored concerns of the post-disaster reconstruction from community residents at 2 to 9 months after the disaster. Forty-one community residents with mean age of 59 were recruited in the study. Twenty-three men and eighteen women were interviewed. A semi-structured interview guide was used. The findings revealed that the main concerns of community residents included “physical health care”, “mental health reconstruction”, “preserving society resource”, and “environment reconstruction”. The findings can be used as a reference for the reconstruction of community after disaster. |
