The purpose of this study was to establish the predicted models of maximal oxygen intake (VO2max) with using body composition and step test. The effective samples were 121 voluntary healthy males. All subjects performed three minutes step test, maximal oxygen intake cycling test and body composition measurements, including height, weight, BMI, percentage body fat, and percentage body fat drawn from bioelectric insistence analysis (BIA) and subcutaneous skinfolds. The average VO2max was 37.764±7.213ml/kg/min. By stepwise regression analysis, the regression models of predicted VO2max was established as following. The contribution of this study was to apply to estimate the cardiorespiratory endurance and the reference of planning exercise prescription for healthy males. VO2max = 76.402-.184(HR1)-.236(age)-.172(weight) R =.814 R=.663 SEE= ±3.5842 p<.01 VO2max = 67.271-.175(HR1)-.189(age)-.327(BIA-Fat%) R =.813,R=.661 SEE= ±3.5958 p<.01 VO2max = 98.936-.174(HR1)-.418(skinfold Fat%)-.158(age)-.190(height) R =.827 R=.684 SEE= ±3.4903 p<.01 VO2max = 64.903-.160(HR1)-.165(age)-.155(abdominal skinfold)-.229(triceps skinfold) R =.818 R=.670 SEE= ±3.5685 p<.01 Units: VO2max(ml/kg/min), age(year), height(cm), weight(kg) , BIA-Fat%(%), abdominal skinfold(mm), triceps skinfold(mm), skinfold Fat%(%), HR1(bts/min). |
