The purpose of this study was to understand the morale among elder residents and related factors of morale in veterans'village. The subjects were elderly with intact functioning of cognition in the Southern of Taiwan. All of the subjects were interviewed under their willingness to response these structured questionnaires. There were 108 received subjects but with 97 effected. The average age is 73.3; average score on self-care is right on low level partial dependence. The one with lowest score in the revised-PGC three subscales is lonely dissatisfaction. Those factors related to agitation, attitudes toward own aging, lonely dissatisfaction, or total elderly morale are following as living style, physical malaise, leisure activity participating, health comprehension and self-care ability. Besides, psychosocial functioning and insomnia accounted for 25.9 % of total variance of elderly morale. Therefore, opening social activities, assisting elderly memory, comforting elderly emotion, remodeling the housing space and providing good guidance about insomnia for them will promote the morale of the elderly in the veterans'village. |
