This case reports on a patient with hereditary non-polyposis colon cancer who faces physical and psychological maladjustment. Roy’s adaptation model was used to collect data for the health assessment of this patient. Nursing interventions focused on the risk of powerlessness, the presence of a disturbed sleep pattern, role performance diffi culties and a lack of patient knowledge about chemotherapy, which was linked to accepting this treatment.During the treatment process, the patient and her family were considered together as part of the care plan and a supportive system was developed through her family, relatives and religion. This was able to help her accept the disease, adapt herself to the future and obtain satisfaction with her body, mind and spirit. |
