Clinical nursing teachers go directly from university to teaching nursing students in a hospital. Teachers are faced with multiple roles and an uncertain medical treatment environment. In order to insist on nursing professionalism, showing negative emotions is unavoidable. The major themes of this paper will explore the following: (1) The teacher’s attitude should combine their professionalism and their beliefs (2) The role of the nursing teachers professionalism and attitudes within the medical treatment environment (3) Clinical nursing teachers may need to reprimand students in the medical treatment environment. The authors hope to help clinical nursing teachers to understand and alert themselves to negative emotions. |
