This article described the home care experience of a patient with motor neuron disease. Health problems being identified included risk for aspiration, impaired physical mobility, nutrition less than body requirements, and hopelessness. After building positive nurse-patient relationship through empathy and caring, nursing interventions were provided, including health education about nutrition intake and rehabilitation assistance. Patient’s confidence level has been improved and value toward life has also been reestablished. This article provided the nurses with references of caring similar patients in the future. |
