Previous studies have indicated that 90% of women suffered from dysmenorrhea and 15% of them were too serious to perform regular activities. Traditional Chinese Medicine has its unique method for managing dysmenorrhea, including adjustment of daily life, alteration of dietary practice, emphasis on particular exercise, emotional care, and self-acupressure care. This study summarized unique methods of Chinese medicine for managing dysmenorrhea. Health care providers are encouraged to receive continuing education on these methods so that they are able to teach their patients about the alternative ways of relieving the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. |
