健康檢查民眾新陳代謝症候群之相關性探討

A Correlation Analysis of Metabolic Syndrome among Population Receiving a Routine Physical Examination

本研究探討健康檢查民眾中，新陳代謝症候群盛行率及其相關之因素。樣本來自於臺灣南部某醫學中心20歲以上成年人共2345位健檢民眾，平均年齡49歲（標準差±13.1）。收集資料包括年齡、性別、身高、體重、腰圍值、血壓、血糖、三酸甘油脂及高密度脂蛋白等檢查數值，以SPSS統計軟體進行統計分析，依美國ATPIII於2001年所訂定之新陳代謝症候群之臨床定義。研究結果顯示：1.新陳代謝症候群盛行率為23％（男23.1％，女22.8％），男女性別盛行率無顯著性差異。2.新陳代謝症候群之發生與年齡有關，以51至60歲之間發生比例較高。3.新陳代謝症候群與腰圍、血壓、三酸甘油脂、高密度脂蛋白、空腹血糖有統計上相關，但與性別無統計上相關。本研究結果將提供醫護人員及民眾對新陳代謝症候群之預防及重視，並作為全民健康維護之參考。

The aims of the study were to investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among population receiving health examination at a medical institution and analyze the factors associated with metabolic syndrome. Two thousand and three hundred and forty-five adults with a mean age of 49 years were selected from a medical institution in southern Taiwan. Subjects’ characteristics, including age, gender, height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, plasma glucose, serum triglycerides, and high density lipoprotein cholesterol were correlated with the metabolic syndrome status defined by the Adult Treatment Panel III in 2001. We found that the prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 23.1% in men and 22.8% in women. The prevalence was the highest among population aged 51-60 years. Waist circumstance, blood pressure, serum levels of triglyceride, fasting glucose and high density lipoprotein cholesterol were significantly associated with the metabolic syndrome. There was no gender difference for the prevalence of metabolic syndrome. Our study indicated the importance of metabolic syndrome and encouraged the public taking preventive strategy to reduce the risk of it.
