Job satisfaction influences employees' behavior and the soundness of an enterprise. For managers, therefore, how to attract and keep employees is very important. For design managers not only need to satisfy industrial designers with reasonable salary but also need to concern their other needs. The researchers administrated a self-designed questionnaire after reviewing relevant studies in this field and investigating the job content of being an industrial designer. The data from the questionnaire were analyzed using one-way ANOVA or t-test. The main findings of this study are discussed below: 1. Results from job satisfaction survey: Industrial designers were most dissatisfied with salaries, next the job itself, promotion, company environment and benefits, corporate image, leadership of supervisors. The most satisfying item is the relationship between colleagues. 2. Results about the factors influencing job satisfaction: Corporate image is the most influential factor: next is relationship between colleagues, leadership of supervisors, promotion, the job itself and company environment and benefits. Salary is the least important factor. 3. Individual variables and perspectives also have significant influence on job satisfaction. The design managers and alike should put more cares to individual variables and perspectives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the product development. |
