臺灣早期火柴盒研究

A Study of Match Boxes in Early Taiwan

本研究以田野調查的方式，蒐集了約八百餘個火柴盒，在依火柴盒使用者或收藏者在其上面的記載以及依電話號碼的碼數推算，發現其中以民國50年～64年間的火柴盒較為整齊，乃以此範圍的火柴盒為樣本，加以整理、歸納與分析。 研究結果發現，小小的火柴盒卻透露出豐富的訊息，經把其中比較明顯的現象整理後，可歸納成十項，除了可反應當時設計的技術與風格之外，亦可反應出當時的社會背景。

Around eight hundred match boxes were collected by field studies conducted for this research. These match boxes were then dated based on contents of the scribbles or number of digits of the telephone numbers printed on these match boxes. The match boxes dated from 1961 to 1975, were found to be more complete and were chosen as the samples for funther categorization, induction and analysis. Althought these match boxes are small in size. But they convey vast amount of imformation. The obesrvations were summarized into ten major findings that concern the technique and style of design, as the social background of the time.
