Anorectal melanoma is a rare malignant tumor. The most common presenting symptom is anal bleeding. The prognosis of anorectal melanoma is poor due to delayed diagnosis and the aggressive nature of the disease. Patients with anorectal melanoma tend to have regional invasion or distant metastasis in the early stages. Herein, we report the case of a 63-year-old female presenting with anal bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed one polypoid tumor, which was proved to be a malignant melanoma after biopsy pathology. The woman subsequently underwent abdominoperineal resection. The patient was well without any evidence of recurrence after a 30-month follow-up period. |
