We present a case of malignant phyllodes tumor (MPT) of breast in a 50-year-old woman with an extraordinarily aggressive clinical course. She presented with a 3-month history of a palpable, painless right breast mass without axillary lymphadenopathy and family history of breast cancer. Morphologically, this tumor contained heterologous components including malignant fibrous histiocytoma and chondrosarcoma. Local recurrence occurred 10 months later, followed by metastases involving lung, brain and small intestine. She died 14 months after the initial diagnosis. |
