The intraarticular ganglion cysts arising from the cruciate ligaments are unusual lesions, and their manifestations are variable. We present a case with right knee pain for one year who had no trauma history of the affected knee. Meniscus tear was diagnosed and repaired after arthroscopy. Unfortunately, the symptoms recurred again one month later. Anterior cruciate ligament-based ganglion cyst was noted after a magnetic resonance image (MRI) study. Popliteal arthrotomy with complete excision of the ganglion was done. The result was good. Arthrotomy with excision is an alternative treatment for ganglion cysts of the cruciate ligaments. |
