We reports a case of intravesical ureterocele of left ureter found during ultrasonography for detection of the benign prostate hypertrophy. The patient was a 67-yr-old male visiting our OPD because of mild dysuria, frequency of urination and pelvic distension. The real-time ultrasound demonstrated that the ureterocele enlarged with urine filling, and became smaller with ejaculation of urine into the vesicle; by color Doppler ultrasonography the ureteric jet from the ureterocele could be well visualized, and with spectral Doppler ultrasound it showed a Doppler wavefrom of momopeak type that was different from a normal waveform of multi-peak type. Moreover, evaluation of the renal function and the ureterodynamics of the left ureter with ureterocele were achieved by calculation of the ureteric jet index through combined real-time and Doppler ultrasonography. |
