In the past four decades of economic developement, Taiwan had tried hard to attract foreign capital, yet there is not much literature exploring the industrial relations for enterprises with forging-capital in Taiwan. This research analyzes that industrial relations from four aspects, namely, labor standards, employment strategy, labor-management negotiating system and labor disputes, to infer whether the type of industry (manufacturing and service) , the source of foreign-capital (North American, Japanese, Asian excluding Japanese, European and elsewhere), the size of capital, and foreigners directly involved in management will result in different industrial relations. The empirical data were 171 samples collected from a survey conducted in March 1993. The statistical instruments utilized include t-test, F-test, a PROBIT analysis and the generalized linear model. The result implies that the type of industry, the source of foreign-capital, the size of capital and whether foreigners directly participating in management do reveal some interesting significant influence on their industrial relations differentials. |
