In terms of deciphering the development of Uni-President Corp.—the pioneering, expanding, conglomerate, internationalization and the information network and genuine periods, this paper explores how strategic changes break out industry boundaries. Uni-President Enterprises Corp. invested in food industry, one of industry attractiveness, and the main business was importing flour. Then Uni-President adjusted strategy in the wake of dynamic environmental changes, including first, the lower and diversification for its reposition market; second, the resource-side, the diversification of core competencies and innovation-side; third, blue ocean strategy to integrate manufacturing and logistic industries to obtain value innovation and expand boundary of industry. Hence it became a leading food firm in Taiwan. Since 2008, from the social-side, the stakeholder network cooperation and social responsibility strategy have been used to combine the core businesses of sub-conglomerates and conducted corporate social responsibility. This achieved the purposes of multi-interests of stakeholders, succeeding in breaking away from traditional food industrial boundaries, and moving towards organic food service industry. |
