From Tribal Society to Nationalized Ethnic Group：Imagination and Performance of Identity in qataban （headhunting ritual／harvest festival）Among the Kavalan

本文從當地人的觀點出發，探討「傳統祭儀」如何曾是一種反思、組織與管理日常生活的模式。人們透過儀式與自然界和超自然界建立想像的聯結，形構具主權且資源共享的部落社會。隨著外來的衝擊，「傳統祭儀」逐沖轉變成為了當代政治目的而被創新、想像的建構，過程中涉及人群分類與新的社會關係之整合。

This paper will examine how”traditional rituals”were once models for reflecting on，organizing and managing daily life，from the natives’s point of view. Through rituals，people built and imagined link with the natural and supernatural world，forming a tribal society that was autonomous and in which resources were shared.
