Purpose: In recent years, as gout guidelines have been formulated in various countries, gout treatment ideas and strategies have changed significantly. These changes greatly increase the level of diagnosis and therapy for gout, which lays a solid foundation for the standardized therapy of gout.
Findings: The gout clinical medical center in Shandong province with reference to related literature at home and abroad, combined with their clinical practice, has put forward the principles of gout therapy. We summarized the principles of gout therapy to four words, namely "stage, grade, combination, comprehensiveness", and divided gout into five stages termed “hyperuricemia, acute gouty arthritis, intermittent period, chronic gouty arthritis, and gouty nephropathy”.
Conclusion: In this paper, the principles of gout therapy were elaborated in detail. We determined the treatment of joint pain, the application of different drugs, while balancing the comprehensive treatment of gout complications according to these principles.
