The advent of locking plates and the understanding of biological fracture fixation have led to the development of minimally invasive percutaneous osteosynthesis (MIPO). The MIPO technique is proven to have multiple strength: minimize soft tissue stripping, preserve of blood supply for bone union, preserve hematoma around fracture site which promote fracture healing. Published results for the technique are encouraging, however MIPO technique cannot be applied to all fractures. To improve the operation successful rate and prevent complications, define the correct indications is important. |
