Oral presentations at academic conferences are an effective venue for disseminating practical experiences and research findings in the fields of medicine and nursing. Nevertheless, due to insufficient preparatory work, inexperience in constructing presentation materials, and lack of self-confidence, many presenters are unable to take advantage of the opportunities that exist in oral presentations and unable to deliver their talk in its best possible form. In this article, we took international academic conferences as an example to illustrate the three main phrases - preparation, practice, and presentation in oral presentations. We provide a number of key points in how to enhance communications with the audiences through the overall planning and the development of presentation materials. By following these basic principles, healthcare workers should be able to create professional-looking and memorable oral presentations. |
