MF3的出現不僅改變了音樂產品的儲存與呈現方式，再配合上網際網路的使用，更是革新了音樂產品的傳輸與銷售模式。由於這些科技的進步，消費者得以享受到更便利的音樂服務，但是，唱片公司卻因為擔心CD市場銷售量的減少而倍感威脅。不過，在另一方面，也有人認為，MP3的運用可以降低營運成本，增加服務內容，反而可能為錄音產業帶來新契機。本文的研究目的，在於透過觀察法及文獻分析法，包括運用各項次級資料、期刊論文，以及產業相關資料，輔以網路上MP3相關網站之觀察，來分析出MP3網路音樂對錄音產業帶來的衝擊，並且嘗試尋找出未來網路音樂產業的最適經營方式。

The development of MP3 digital music has changed the format of music products. And with rapid growth of internet, MP3 also changed the way to sell music products.With this technological improvement, the consumers will be benefited from the convenience of MP3, while the records companies would be threatened by the challenge of record industry revolution. However, most records companies worry about that MP3 may reduce the sales of CDs in the market. On the other hand, some people think that MP3 may help bring about various advantages for the record industry in terms of decreasing the marketing cost and increasing the business items.The aim of this research is to find out the impact of MP3 internet music, and discuss the tendency of record industry in the future. With reading documents, and visiting MP3 web sites, this research also tried to develop the ideal way of managing internet music industry.
