世界貿易組織下的大部分多邊貿易談判處於停滯狀態，導致主要貿易國家將注意力轉移至替代性的多邊論壇、重要的雙邊，以及區域性自由貿易協議。另一方面，全球性政治經濟也正逐步扮演對國際貿易具有重要影響力的角色。在前述雙重的國際貿易實務歷史劇烈變化下，將可能對臺灣，以及從事國際商務的律師有所影響。本篇文章在評析國際貿易實務下的10項重要趨勢，對臺灣經濟、以及臺灣國際商務律師可能受到的影響，並提出臺灣如何應對外交與經濟孤立的建議，同時臺灣國際商務律師可能的機會與挑戰。

The stagnation at the multilateral level has caused the major trading countries to shift their attention to alternatives to the multilateral forum, most notably bilateral and regional free trade agreements. On the other hand, the global political economy also is evolving in ways that are having significant effects on international trade. So, some of these changes will have implications for Taiwan and for young lawyers entering the practice of international business, which is why the principal purpose of this essay is to consider how ten of the major trends in international trade practices may affect the Taiwanese economy and Taiwan's international business lawyers. At the End, the paper concludes with suggestions on how to use the current international trade trends to diffuse China's efforts to push Taiwan into further diplomatic and economic isolation, and on how Taiwanese international business lawyers need to be well aware of its effect in Taiwan.
