This study collected 82 mental health research studies with reliability information from 1998 to 2008 in Taiwan and final 36 valid studies with additional complete correlation coefficients were used. Approaches of meta-analysis and structural equation modeling were implemented to integrate major constructs of mental health and to verify the goodness of fits between possible mental health measurement models and the synthesized data. Results showed that the main contents of mental health comprised five major constructs and were all with high combined coefficients of reliability; they were somatic symptom (SM), anxiety (AN), social undermining (SO), depression (DE), and positive mentality (PO). A model based on the framework of physical (SM), psychological (AN, DE and PO), and social (SO) factors were most fitting the synthesized data. |
