He bought the farmland as the place for spreading Nouslogy. Unfortunately, he died in disease with his lofty aspirations unrealized at the age of 31. This was a deep shock to Wang Yang-Ming. He wrote four funeral orations in different times to express his endless mourning and decided to elaborate Nouslogy as if Heng-Shan was present. Though his disciple in later period, Qian Hsu-Shan, had never met Xu Heng-Shan, he grasped the life nature of "Zhong Xing" (internal experience and fulfillment of life) through observing the wife of Heng Shan, Wang Shou-Rang, about untiring presence of love toward Heng-Shan. He especially emphasize discipline of actual affairs that happened to show how Yang-Ming, Heng-Shan and Xu-Shan fulfilled fidelity to each other. The depth of love in them actually went across the line between life and death. This is what we said "Presence of Constancy." |
