Carbon nanobelts have been massively produced using nanoporous anodic alumina as templates. Their length, width, and thickness are determined to be tens of micrometers, 470nm, and 5nm, respectively. Such high-aspect-ratio morphology can be regarded as a quasi 2D nanomaterial. The nano-electronic device with single nanobelt was developed by focused ion-beam deposition of two or four electrodes on it, and the electrical properties were studied by a multi-probe measurement system. The conductivity of a nanobelt after 800 C annealing is 145.3(Ω mm)-1 and shows one order of magnitude higher than that of as-prepared one. This carbon nanobelt-based device with large inner room can be utilized as a chemical sensor for detecting molecules adsorbed inside. |
