ZnO Nanorods Array on the Functionalized Si Substrate

Vertical aligned ZnO nanorods array was fabricated on Si substrate without seed layer. The nanorods were grown by hydrothermal method. Furthermore, the ZnO nanorods were single crystalline with a wurtzite structure and hexagonal shaped top. HF aqueous solution etching and self-assembled monolayer of octadecyltrimethoxysilane used to functionalize Si substrates. The functionalized substrate could transfer the orientation of nanorods to a vertically growth.
