Poster presentations at conferences are an effective medium for academic knowledge transfer. In contrast to traditional manuscript publications, posters emphasize on brevity and clarity in its content to convey the main findings of a study to their audience. To be able to draw attendees' attention, it needs more thought than simply conforms to the requirements of a particular conference. The ability to convey contents in a succinct and scholarly fashion, supported by well-organized tables and figures, in addition to maximize the overall visual appeal of the posters is critical. To this end, the aim of this article is to provide readers with an overall view of the poster presentation process. Each step beginning from content writing, visual designing, which includes layout, text formatting, and color choice, to poster production and presentation is described. Additional reference materials are provided for readers who want to further explore particular areas of interest in greater depth. It is hoped that this article can provide helpful suggestions to medical staffs who wish to share their research findings through poster presentations at conferences and thereby increase both personal and international research competitiveness. |
