Peter Burke' New Cultural History

當代西洋史學在20世紀最後三十年間發生了新的一次轉向，由傳統文化史和社會史轉向新文化史。英國文化史家Peter Burke是參與和領導這場新的史學革新運動的主要代表人物之一，他在理論和實踐上對（新）文化史進行了深入的研究和闡發。本文結合Burke各個時期的主要著作和觀點，回顧其史學觀念的形成過程，分析新文化史的主要特點及變化。

In the last three decades of the twentieth century, we witnessed a new turn in the contemporary western historiography, which is from the classical cultural history and social history to the new cultural history. Peter Burke, the British cultural historian, is one of the most important advocators of this movement. He did a lot of studies on the (new) cultural history theoretically and practically. From Burke's own works and his views in different periods, this essay tries to review the forming of his new cultural history, and to explore the characteristics and varieties of the NCH.
