The importance of teaching critical thinking is widely recognized across the educational spheres locally and overseas, yet there remain differing opinions and research results regarding which approach, "making critical thinking as a subject" or "integrating critical thinking into certain professional subjects", should be adopted. The essay cites examples from the learning of the segmentation of concepts concerning the terms of Administrative Law, in combination with "dialectical process of critical thinking", proposed by Sophia Ming-Lee Wen , to analyze the learning and teaching experiences of the author's mode of integrated critical thinking. Meanwhile, the author offers his experiences of passing civil service examinations many times as well as helping more than 500 people in passing such examinations with counseling over the past decade, manifesting the critical thinking teaching employed in certain professional subjects indeed can enhance academic achievements and thinking abilities. Therefore, it is suggested that all schools provide education on
critical thinking; if it is not plausible, then, it is greatly beneficial to the teaching if teachers integrate critical
thinking into the curriculum. |
